Argument From Authority

Just because an authority has said something. This doesn't immediately make it true.

Experts have their place but a statement that remains true in probably all circumstances is as follows:

Claims made without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.

If someone makes a claim regardless of their expertise or authority but can't point to any evidence that can substantiate their claim. We need no evidence to immediately dismiss it.

The bible commands us, not to let anyone deceive us. So due diligence and investigating evidence for ourselves is a requirement given by God.
